This was never part of the plan

South Texas gave me a voice. Now, our community deserves a voice in Washington.

I didn’t plan to become a Tejano musician. I certainly didn’t expect I’d sell out tours or win a pair of Latin Grammys. My life just shook out that way.

South Texas gave me a voice. So I’m running for Congress to give our community the voice it deserves in Washington.

Before I explain more, we have a critical end-of-month fundraising deadline at midnight, and I need a surge of grassroots support to close our funding gap with my opponent. If you’re able, could you pitch in any amount that’s in your budget to help us reach our goal?

DONATE

Look, I’m not a politician, and that’s the whole point. South Texas has had enough of career opportunists like Monica De La Cruz who are all talk and no action, who turn a blind eye to what people are dealing with.

When Texas Republicans tried to gerrymander us, to silence our voices, I wasn’t having it.

I walked away from a 30-year music career and announced this campaign.

And our hard work is paying off: We are polling 2 points ahead and just outraised Monica De La Cruz for the very first time.

Washington insiders and political pundits counted me out. Now, I’m on track to flip the seat that could determine control of the House — and pull off the biggest upset of 2026.

But according to the latest reports, Monica De La Cruz still has $2.5 million burning a hole in her pocket, and dark money groups are ready to pump millions more to crush our momentum.

We’re a few hours away from our July fundraising deadline and are still a few donations short of where we’d like to be. Will you consider pitching in a few bucks or whatever amount works for you?

DONATE

Let’s show South Texas that a better future’s within reach.
