Bobby Pulido · Open Mic

South Texas used to be a place where people with a dream knew that, with dedication, hard work, and the grace of God, you could make it.

Where even a migrant farm worker named José Roberto Pulido, who traveled from state to state with the growing season, could put down his own roots, build a future for his family, and follow his dreams.

You may know me as Bobby Pulido, the Tejano singer. Or even as Bobby Pulido, the candidate for Congress.

But my full name is José Roberto Pulido, Jr.

I’m the proud son of that migrant farm worker-turned-musician, and I’m South Texas cien por ciento.

I’ve always used my voice to lift up South Texas, celebrate our Tejano culture, and bring people together. Now, I’m running for Congress to ensure all of our voices are heard.

But right now, that sure as hell isn’t happening.

Costs are through the roof, crushing families and small businesses. Our Republican representative, Monica De La Cruz, has turned her back on working-class families. She hasn’t dared to stand up to corporations, her billionaire donors, or even her political party to do what’s right for South Texas.

South Texas raised me. I won’t stand by and watch while it’s torn down and divided by people who don’t get how we do things around here.

I’m starting this Substack as a way to keep you in the loop on our campaign: updates from the campaign trail, my perspective on the biggest challenges facing South Texas right now, and how I plan to make life better for my community when I get to Congress.

Every movement starts with la gente. If you’re ready to show South Texas that there’s a better future ahead of us, I hope you’ll follow along.

Gracias por todo.

— Bobby Pulido

Before you go!

After 30 years in music, two-time Latin GRAMMY winning Tejano artist Bobby Pulido is retiring from the stage to fight for his community in Congress.

He’s taking on one of the most competitive races in the country: Texas’ 15th District. Experts say it’s a 50/50 race, but this campaign has been consistently outraised by Bobby’s Trump-endorsed opponent.

Can you donate to Bobby’s campaign now to flip this red seat blue?
