Saturday morning—fully refreshed this AM, even after reading for hours beyond midnight… followed by coffee and eggs in the early morning, and continued reading for several additional hours until a scheduled meditation started via Zoom at 10 AM… good book, comfortable home, good food, meditation, and perfect coffee… Life is Good.
I reflect on the Ram Dass quote: “The matter of consciousness is how quickly you give up a past model, so that you can be here and now.”
Carrying pictures and memories, good or bad, is always a burden in the present moment called NOW… So how can a pleasant memory be a burden? That is a reasonable question, and I will attempt here to give it a reasonable answer… a pleasant memory takes one out of the NOW and starts comparing this moment to the past… This comparison squashes the NOW, removing the joy of experiencing the present (the only real moment) … Living in the NOW without fear or judgment from past experiences is truly a heavenly state…
Namaste my friends, wishing you a day of awareness of the joy of NOW.
