Soundtrack: Somebody That I Used To Know - Gotye ft. Kimbra
If you were to tell me a year ago what 2025 had in store for her, you’d have sent her into a coma.
2025 was life changing for me. I lived through a world-shattering breakup then I turned 30. I rediscovered who I am when nobody is looking and I let people see that part unapologetically, all while unlocking a feminine rage I didn’t know existed inside myself.
I recorded every moment of it in the pages of my diary, as I’ve done for years. But this time I decided to share some of it on this weird little website my sister showed me back in spring called Substack.
I didn’t post much at first. I didn’t really get it, to be honest. Another algorithm to crack and I didn’t know where to start. But that gave me something: freedom.
The day after my breakup, I woke up at 4am and poured my thoughts out onto my notes app. I just needed to get the words out of my head. I don’t know what possessed me to post it. I had maybe a dozen subscribers at the time and I didn’t think this particular post would matter much. I thought it would get swallowed into the void like most creations do.
But it didn’t. People read it and felt it and shared it.
So I kept writing and sharing my real thoughts and feelings.
Fast-forward to the end of 2025 and that strange little decision has lead to 16,000 wonderful subscribers and a community of people that want to read what I have to say.
Stepping into what feels natural to me and expressing myself in my most raw, basic state, and having it truly connect with people around the world is something I’ve always dreamed of.
Thank you so much for being here.
I never imagined that the most painful moment in my life would lead me to finding my voice and stepping into my purpose. Life is weird and wonderful that way.
And that’s on alchemy, baby.
Ok, stop crying now. Give us the list already.

In 2025, I discovered that I didn’t need romantic love to be happy. I pondered on the notion that perhaps my soulmate ties exist inside the female friendships I have. The ones that bring me to my knees with laughter in the middle of John Lewis (and have me seriously worried about the longevity and strength of my pelvic floor).
There is love that shows up consistently and without hesitation.
I learned that being a Lover Girl doesn’t begin and end with a love for men that refuse to love me back.
I love me back. My friends love me back. My art loves me back. My gorgeous little home that I’ve poured my life into creating loves me back.
And most importantly, I discovered the me that matters most is the one that exists when I stop trying to be palatable.
I intend to carry that energy into 2026 with me and I hope you do too.
See you next time in the confessional.
Blithe x
