House of Satisfactions Update

House of Satisfactions is my alternative comic book studio that is publishing a Southern horror anthology on Kickstarter in October.

Pre-save Hangwater, TX here!

Every platform has its algorithmic metric for success. The number of Pre-Saves a project indicates to Kickstarter interest and how heavily to promote it when it goes live. In short, it’s important.

You’ll also be notified when the campaign goes live so you can snag those early bird tiers!

The art coming in each week is stunning. I’m so excited to show you more soon.

Here is a flyer I made for comic shops and STAPLE! Expo in Austin.

Sign up for the House of Satisfactions email list so you get VIP pricing for the comic.

ComiClub Reads Avengers

We’re reading Jonathan Hickman’s epic Avengers saga. This is highly recommended for MCU fans who want a big crazy multiversal story to dig into before the upcoming Avengers films.

Listen to our spoiler-free First Impressions episode to see if this series is up your alley:

Then when you’re ready, jump into our full episode on Avengers by Jonathan Hickman: The Complete Collection Vol. 1

Video Game Recommendation: Saros

Bullet hell ballet.

This game is wild. You run through an H.R. Giger influenced alien world.

You invariably die. Then are resurrected. You invest in some upgrades and do it again.

Comic writer Ram V was a story consultant on the game which explores Hindu mythology. The story is very opaque. I don’t think I fully understood what happened with the main character.

The build system and stats are way too complicated. I could never really wrap my head around what build I was making. So I just picked everything up. The main difference in runs are the guns which have a huge impact on play. Some guns make the game a breeze while other make it very tough.

Recommended if you’re looking for an arcade shooter in the vein of modern Doom games.

What to [watch] this weekend: Obsession

When I first heard the concept of this film, I thought it sounded stupid. But this trailer has me sold. I’m a sucker for these modern high-concept horror films.

Directed by: Curry Barker

Logline: “After breaking the mysterious “One Wish Willow” to win his crush’s heart, a hopeless romantic finds himself getting exactly what he asked for but soon discovers that some desires come at a dark, sinister price.”

Have I watched it yet? No

Where to watch? Theaters of course
