While building MVPs for clients through SwiftSwiftApps, I've been slowly progressing on my own apps. Here's where each project stands:
With SwiftSwiftApps taking most of my time, I haven't had much time to dedicate to my own apps.
But I was still able to make the majority of what I had planned for Summiqo, my transcription and summarization app:
Make an iOS version
Switch to on-device transcription whenever available (with the new SpeechAnalyzer / SpeechTranscriber available for iOS 18 and macOS 15)
Update the UI to Liquid Glass
Remove the paywall, make it fully free and add a tip jar instead
I'm entering #Shipaton with this app.
I'm happy to tell you Summiqo 1.1 is now available both on iOS and macOS!
And here's the link to download it and use it for free:

I also worked a bit on my calorie + intermittent fasting tracker, and it's working quite well. I'm using it daily.
I'm considering morphing this app into a "super tracker" of some sort: track calories eaten, intermittent fasting, but also habits, addictions, etc. in a simple way, with a nice UI.
This "super tracker" is purely a personal need: I rely on many apps that I don't find particularly great. So my idea is to do one app that helps me stay on top of everything I track in my life, and just put it on the App Store to see what happens.
This is the app that didn't receive much love from me. I didn't make any progress besides just thinking about it a bit.
Plus, I noticed that somebody else recently launched an app that partially overlaps with the use cases I was planning. Shipping always wins, good for them!
I'll see when I get around this project.
The juggling act between client work and personal projects continues. And you, how do you manage this balance?
