In Tuscany, the dominant red grape is the sangiovese. The grape provides the framework and foundation for the wines of Chianti, of Brunello di Montalcino, and of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Of that last appellation, you may be saying, “Huh? Who?” VNdiM, as we’ll call it, wishes it weren’t so.
