Beyond Reasonable’s focus on wisdom and human limitations is heavily influenced by my study of Buddhism, so I find it reasonable to begin here. After all, Buddhism provides a very extensive toolbox for facing and grappling with our “merely reasonable” notions of the world. Half jestingly, I call my flavor of Buddhism “Not-a-yana Buddhism” (will be explained later).
This series will roughly cover:
Notayana Buddhism, aka “many paradoxes are boring!”
Reminders of Engagement: “it’s about practice”
Buddhism’s triplets, and pragmatic bent
Not Illusion, Approximation: metaphysics asks the wrong question
Why Change is (Emotionally) Hard
Essence and Emptiness
Bonus: Heart Sutra Redux
The Buddhist Journey Beyond
Furthermore, there will be two more pieces dispelling metaphysics:
Relational Foundations
Reframing “Reality”
