When it comes to footwear, people are often faced with the dilemma of having to choose between either style or comfort. But fret not, if you’re looking for something that suits your alternative fashion sense while still leaving wiggle room for the toes, you’ll find plenty of options here.

I’ve put together several lists of wide toe box shoes by now, and one in particular proved to be especially popular. You may have already seen the list of wide toe box shoes with attitude I created, but one unexpected problem I ran into was that there were actually too many shoes that qualified, resulting in that post becoming extremely long.

I decided to break a few of the larger sections off into their own posts so I can keep adding to them. So here’s an expanded list of shoes for punks, goths, and adjacent! You’ll find a range of different shoes associated with punk fashion: from simple Converse-style sneakers for old school skater punks, to loafers and Derbies for those who are into the Dark Academia aesthetic. And of course, chunky wide toe box combat boots for the everyday punk or goth.

While some of the footwear here might strike you as a little basic compared to what you’ll find from actual goth brands, there’s plenty you can do to add more bling. An easy option would be adding shoe accessories such as chains or bat wings. If you’re feeling brave enough, you can add screw-in spikes or paint your own designs with leather paint. A less stressful and cheaper route would be to look for used or affordable wide toe box shoes and embellish them however you like.

(B) = barefoot; flat, thin soles
(ZD) = zero drop; flat soles with cushion
(LH) = low heel
(H) = high heel
(P) = platform
