I’ve been on my self-improvement journey for the last 5 years. And I can tell you with confidence, most people make it a lot more complicated than it really is.
To improve yourself, you just need to focus on 3 things: sleep, body, and mind.
That’s it. Seriously.
The biggest mistake people make is trying to fix everything at once.
New diet, new workout, new morning routine, all on day 1. It feels great for 3 days, and then life happens and it all falls apart. I’ve been there too.
This challenge is different. We’ll tackle each area one week at a time, building slowly, so by week 4 it doesn’t even feel like a challenge anymore.
I’ll try to keep this issue short and to the point.
Let’s get into it.
Do these tasks every day this week. Your rest of the day is completely yours, no other rules.
No phone for the last hour before bed
Fix a sleep time and get 7 to 8 hours of rest
Drink 500ml of water first thing in the morning
Make your bed within 5 minutes of waking up (it takes 2 minutes but starting your day with a small win sets a different tone, trust me on this one)
Most people want to feel more energetic and focused but completely ignore their sleep. Bad sleep affects your mood, your energy, your focus at work, literally everything.
You can’t build a good life on 5 hours of broken sleep and 3 cups of coffee.
So this week is about fixing the foundation.
Keep doing week 1 tasks, and add these:
Move your body for at least 30 minutes a day. Gym, calisthenics, a walk, a sport, anything.
Add one protein source and one fruit or vegetable to each meal
Drink 2 to 3 litres of water daily. Easiest way: carry a 1L bottle and refill it 3 times.
You don’t need a crazy diet plan or an expensive gym membership.
Just move a little more and eat a little better than you did yesterday. That’s the whole game at this stage.
Keep doing week 1 and 2 tasks, and add these:
Spend 1 hour learning something new. 30 minutes learning + 30 minutes practicing. Pick a skill you can monetize like copywriting, coding, or video editing. Or something you enjoy like guitar, chess, or a new language.
Say no to one thing you’d normally give in to. Junk food, early morning doom scroll, or whatever you know is holding you back.
Keep your screen time under 3 hours. Fill that time with offline activities: go for a walk, read books, cook something new, play a sport, or anything that doesn’t involve a screen.
Your mind needs work just like your body does.
And honestly, learning something new while cutting back on screens is one of the fastest ways to start feeling confident about yourself.
This week, you do it all. Every task from week 1, 2, and 3, every single day.
By now, most of these won’t feel hard. That’s the whole point. You’ve been building up to this.
Write a short letter to yourself about these 4 weeks
Identify which habits you want to keep going forward
Plan your next 30 days
Don’t skip this part.
Reflection is what turns this 30 day challenge into a permanent lifestyle change.
You’ve got this.
By the end of this challenge, you won’t be a completely different person. But you’ll feel noticeably better, more rested, more in control, and honestly just better about yourself. And that feeling is exactly what makes you want to keep going.
That’s the whole point of this challenge. Not to fix everything in 30 days, but to show you that small, consistent steps actually work.
Once you feel that, stopping feels wrong.
Download this 30 Day Challenge Tracker, and circle each day you successfully complete all the tasks.
If you’re taking on this challenge, drop a “level up” in the comments, I’d love to know. And if you have any questions about any of the tasks, ask me in the comments. I check every one.
Thanks for reading. I’ll see you in the next issue. Until then, take care and keep moving forward.
