🦾 Is AI A Bubble?

Quick question before we get into it: I want to know what you actually want from this thing, and I have opened up a little client work. Tell me here.

Are we in an AI bubble?

I think there’s gonna be some ups and downs, but I don’t think so because I’m a user of these things. I find that every time the models improve, I use them more.

I find that I don’t think I can actually max out the demand or use, especially when agents can do productive work for other agents, and I can monitor them day and night, and that architecture gets better, and they’re more effective at running on their own.

The explosion of intelligence is going through the roof. It might actually be INFINITE.

Power is a huge constraint. Chips are. Data centers are. Compute is. Inference is.

And the time it takes for the market to build these PHYSICAL things will take years.

So for years, there will be a supply/demand imbalance.

When there is less supply compared to demand, prices go up.

If I had to guess, we probably have 20 years of MAXIMUM demand for intelligence and the power, chips, and data centers needed to fuel it all.

Think about the amount of things in the world that are broken or don’t exist at all.

Do you really think there is only room for a few big tech companies? They aren’t actually the end consumer for all this demand.

You are. Billions of humans and millions of businesses are.

What about the fact that I’m sitting in Greenville right now, and the city is growing. They just announced a $2 billion retail/bike trail expansion 2 miles from where I’m typing this.

The number of things that need intelligence is infinite. And I suspect it will be that way for at least 100 years.

The robots come next, and watch as the world completely changes.

And servers, chips, and AI will underpin it all.

This is the way we are going

Im on two screens right now.

I’ll be on 4 at the office. (yes, 4.)

I have one in my room at night.

Then a TV for ‘relaxing.’

Then my phone in between.

You can FEEL the strain as you go from phone to looking up, and your eyes take a minute to adjust (or don’t at all).

Ya. That’s a problem. And scary.

One simple help is screen glasses that block blue light.

These help reduce the blue light in your eyes, which does a bunch of good stuff for your body. They also prevent the sheer volume of rays that you need to process, which makes your eyes strained at the end of a long screen-heavy day.

I wear a pair of LITEZ during most of my screen time.

Instead of being wired and headachy at night, I’m falling asleep faster and easier.

These are third-party tested to block 100% of blue light. Easy to test yourself if you get a little blue light measurer thing.

But even if blue light doesn’t concern you, just think about the difference you will feel.

You will feel it. It’s impossible not to.

Try em out. IF you don’t like them, send them back for a full refund.

Highly highly recommended.

First, tell me what to write

I write this every day. I would rather write the thing you actually want to read than guess at it. What do you want more of? What do you skip? What would make you forward this to someone? Thirty seconds of your honesty is worth more to me than a hundred opens. Feedback link → Fill out this form

Two. I have room for a few clients again.

For years I have done this work: AI, wealth, life, entrepreneurship, small business, ads, marketing. Not theory. I built the companies, ran the ads, made the mistakes, paid for the lessons.

I am back to doing my own thing now, which means I have space for a small number of people and businesses to work with directly. Coaching, consulting, or just getting your operation into the AI age before your competition figures it out. Fill this out, and we can explore if I can help (and if not, I can point you in the right direction).

🤖 AI

  • 🟢 AMD +4.8%. Riding the agent-inference buildout while the rest of semis wobble. The picks and shovels trade keeps rotating inside itself.

  • 🟢 MU +2.1%. Memory is the real bottleneck now, not just GPUs. Boring layer, best position.

  • 🔴 AVGO -4.9%. Nothing broke. Expectations just got too far ahead of the print.

  • 🔴 AMAT -4.4%. Revenue 9.12 billion dollars, up 25 percent, and the stock still fell. When a beat is not enough, the price already assumed years of spending.

💻 Tech

  • 🟢 RDDT +13.1%. Joins the S&P 500 before the open on August 18. Index inclusion is a liquidity event, not a business event.

  • 🟢 SNDK +6.5%. JPMorgan upgrade to Overweight after its Investor Day. Storage is quietly one of the best AI trades of the year.

  • 🔴 SPCX -3.8%. Heavy volume, no news to hang it on.

  • 🔴 IBM -1.1%. Down on the same day it announced a broad OpenAI enterprise alliance. Distribution deals take years to show up in a print.

🏦 Finance

  • 🟢 NU +10.7%. Record quarter, quarterly net income above 1 billion dollars for the first time. A bank built without branches.

  • 🟢 C +0.7%. Quiet grind higher. Boring is a strategy.

  • 🔴 MSTR -4.8%. Down 76 percent over a year. Leverage on a volatile asset works exactly until it does not.

  • 🔴 COIN -3.0%. Bitcoin near 62,700 dollars with the Fear and Greed index at 29. Crypto is in fear while equities sit at records.

🌎 Other

  • 🟢 DIS +1.7%. Still cheap relative to its own catalog.

  • 🟢 CVX +1.5%. Energy is up 34 percent year to date. Everybody talking about AI, nobody talking about what powers it.

  • 🔴 GLOB -5.2%. Weak quarter from an IT services shop. Down 52 percent on the year. This is what it looks like when AI eats your billable hours.

  • 🔴 LLY -2.7%. Giving back a piece of an 80 percent year.

Read those four buckets together. Money is not fleeing AI, it is moving down the stack into memory, storage and power, and it is punishing anyone whose product was billable human hours. That is the whole story in one session. Quotes as of 10:55 AM ET today.
