Boston tomorrow, Washington D.C. Saturday

Today is Thursday and I’m headed to Boston to play The Wilbur Theatre for the first time. I’m going one day early because I really don’t want to miss it (my show is tomorrow). I’ve played this noble theater before but it was back when I was opening for Anthony Jeselnik many years ago. I’ve also opened for Sarah Silverman at The Wilbur fewer years ago, a more pleasant voyage.

I’m no stranger to Boston! I filmed my Comedy Central Half Hour at Royale in 2015, whew, that was a tumultuous time in my life. We don’t have time to get into it right now, I’m boarding my first flight in two minutes. In recent history I’ve headlined Great Scot in Allston, Laugh Boston in some hotel and Crystal Ballroom in Somerville, Massachusetts (which I love), but ~this time~ I’m doing the big theataaah! And it’s a real Beth-to-Beth banger as Bethany Van Delft is opening for me!

According to yesterday’s ticket counts emailed to me, the Wilbur seats will not be completely filled with people; there will be some seats with vibes, ghosts or tote bags. It would be normal to brag if they were going to be filled and to keep it to myself that they won’t be. However I’d like to note that the seats that will be occupied by people are going to be filled with all the right people… you guys! People with the right kinda butts!! Some folks saw me posting that there were seven hundred tickets left (which I think there are) and assumed I was sad, but in reality I’m happy that there were four hundred tickets purchased to see me perform.

Thank you for spending your hard-earned money on a night out to get a good laugh with me, or maybe even a nap! That would be a bit of an expensive nap, but I want you to enjoy yourself however you need. I can promise that I will be giving it my all to bring you a very funny hour of stand-up comedy, that’s the deal. I don’t need much from you, just an open mind and mouth (for the laughs to come out). I’m so pleased that there will be lots of extra room to stretch out in the theater and zero fighting for elbow space on the armrest.
