I hope March has been kind to you and that you’re feeling the glorious effects of spring wherever you may live!

I’ve been thinking a lot about how to make this space feel more connected, more like a conversation and less like a lecture. And then it hit me (cue the nostalgia spiral): “Dear Abby’s Advice Column.” Growing up on Sunday mornings, I’d grab the morning paper and flip to the advice column to see what advice Dear Abby had for her troubled and curious readers. And if you were a teen in the 90s, you may remember the back pages of any teen magazine were basically a masterclass in humanity…questions like “Help! I forgot to shave my legs on vacation, and now I have to go to the pool!!” Ah, the fake horrors.

So naturally, I’d love to implement an “Ask Me Anything” series here on Substack.

Each month, I’ll be collecting your questions and sharing honest insight into the design industry. Whether you’re navigating the design industry, surviving freelance life, thriving (or not) on an in-house team, or just curious about “how do I ____?” The goal is simple: share knowledge openly, no gatekeeping! Just real talk from someone who’s been in the design arena for 20 years.
