The BEST Year in Review

2025 was a huge year for BEST and all of its programs and advocacy work.

🚲 Our Bike Valet service parked over 11,000 bikes at events across the region!

🌎Eco-voyage grew from a small pilot project into a BEST mainstay, delivering 18 multimodal workshops to over 400 newcomers and high school students in Vancouver, encouraging participants to navigate Vancouver confidently using sustainable modes.

🚶Living Streets also had a great year, hosting 13 walks with 275 participants! WALKtober continued building community connection and knowledge building, hosting welcoming walks during the colder season.

🏆Our WALK30 Challenge was also successful, building support for walkable cities and encouraging over 558,000 minutes of walking throughout April. Stay tuned for WALK30’s 10th anniversary in 2026 👀

🚌Finally, our Seniors On The Move program offered 33 transportation training workshops and excursions on transit to 392 seniors across Metro Vancouver. Our team also chaired the Seniors’ Transportation Advocacy Committee and Co-Chaired the Provincial Working Group on Seniors’ Transportation, leading advocacy initiatives to improve transportation policies and options for seniors, including advocating for safer street designs and better HandyDart services.
