Royals and Reality

The reality is that the celebrity spotlight of social media has shown only to clearly that the Royals are no different to anyone else or any other family, celebs or not. Few families can claim to avoid life’s pitfalls but the public expect more from the Royals in exchange for what they believe is their due for taxpayers contributions towards their homes and celebrations. In my view they give as good as they get, if not better, in public service in a tiring schedule of endless public appointments trying to keep up an air of interest in their citizens lives and handing out awards.

There does seem to be a question to be asked as to why some Royal members seem to have plenty of money and others not. Why has Andrew needed to seek £millions from dodgy business deals when Edward seems content in his Surrey mansion quietly opening charity events?

If I was any of them reading the headlines now I would be thinking why do I need go on with all this third degree exposure and criticism. The Royals have plenty of homes of their own which they cater for at their own expense and could live the comfortable lives of similarly wealthy people without any government support or need to meet anyone they chose not to.

Instead of this current witch hunt against the bad boy of the family and its fall out on the rest it is time for a sensible re-think and understanding of the Royals as just like the rest of us who need get up and try to do a job every day, often tired and not feeling so well, and as with Kate having to keep up apperances while dealing with cancer and the stresses of child upbringing. Perhaps it will take William and Kate to say that if this nonsense goes on they will give up their royal roles as a bad job to lead their own lives out of the limelight so as to give the press and public a reality jolt.

Andrew has proved to be a vain and gullible fool seduced by the evil machinations of Epstein and Mandelson and is paying a terrible psychological price for it. His family need gather round to support him, not to distance themselves, as does the British Press and public need look at their own lives in the age of voyeurism and Only Fans and Love Island. Not this shockingly sanctimonious outcry of fake indignant falsehood. People in glass houses should not throw stones.
