President Donald Trump unleashed a barrage of roughly 60 Truth Social posts in the span of two hours on Sunday, prompting a small group of documentary filmmakers and a longtime political antagonist to diagnose the digital deluge as a textbook “hypomanic episode.”

Before you scroll any further, remember one thing: stories like this don't get boosted by algorithms or backed by billion-dollar media companies, they survive because readers choose to support independent journalism. There are no corporate owners, no advertisers calling the shots, just reader-funded reporting willing to cover the stories others won't. If you value sharp, independent journalism, become a paid supporter today. It takes less than a minute, and it makes all the difference.

The account behind the claim, Shallow State, run by documentary makers Daniel Partland, Art Horan and behaviorist Howard Marks, counted the posts and declared them anything but ordinary.

“Post after post after post,” they wrote. “I count about 60 of them—mostly images, many of them AI. All his trademark pathologies; all his underlying themes: Malice. Grievance. Division. Entitlement.”

In case you missed it:

They painted a picture of a man whose “gut is a simmering stew of agitation, rage, and desperation,” filled with “paranoid fantasies of revenge alongside fantastical visions of regaining his grandiosity.”

“Neither you nor I can EVER feel the kind of frenzied fear and fanaticism that Trump feels now,” the post continued, warning that “malignant narcissists in decline always get worse, it’s always messy, and they never want to go down alone.”

Conservative attorney and dedicated Never Trumper George Conway amplified the analysis, expressing surprise that more traditional news outlets hadn’t seized on it.

“None of this is abstruse or difficult to explore or explain,” Conway wrote. “There are countless books on the subject. There are countless experts in psychology, psychiatry, history, and political science who can explain the significance of what we are seeing with President Trump. The press needs to do its job.”

In the end, whether a frantic two-hour Truth Social barrage truly qualifies as clinical evidence of psychiatric distress remains a matter of heated speculation. Yet the sheer volume of the outburst proved more than enough to whip MAGA world into its own heightened state of agitation.

No ads, no billionaire owners, and no corporate gatekeepers deciding which stories deserve attention.
