Hi friends,

I honestly cannot believe I’m writing this email but somehow… we are officially 11 days away from principal photography on The Way Back Home.

Eleven.

After months of writing, fundraising, teaching, planning, interviewing, scouting, late night production meetings, building community partnerships, assembling crew, and watching an idea slowly turn into something tangible… we are almost there.

And over here at Becoming Love Project, the energy is electric.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve locked locations across Georgia, held callbacks with some incredibly talented actors, continued training our cohort apprentices behind the scenes, and watched this project evolve from a classroom conversation into a film that is about to become very, very real.

And honestly… watching our young people step into this process has been one of the most rewarding parts of all of it.

One of our Story Makers has been helping lead the casting process and somewhere in the middle of meeting actors, discussing characters, and helping shape creative decisions, she had a moment where she realized this may actually be the career path she wants to pursue.

Another has been learning the Assistant Director process and understanding how scripts get broken down, how departments communicate, and what it actually takes to move a production from paper to set.

This is exactly why we built this program.

Not just to teach storytelling.

But to create real pathways.

To make sure young people who historically have not had access to creative industries get to see themselves inside the process, not standing outside of it wondering how to break in.

At the center of all of this is The Way Back Home.

A film about a woman pushed to the edge after years of performing, overachieving, people pleasing, and carrying more than she was ever meant to carry… until a nervous breakdown forces her to return home and confront who she is when she stops trying to be everything for everybody else.

If that sounds painfully familiar… that’s because for a lot of people right now, it is.

And here’s where we need community.

We are incredibly close, but as we move into production we are still working to close a $4,500 funding gap that will help cover final production costs, transportation for apprentices, meals on set, equipment, crew support, and everything needed to make sure we execute this film at the level it deserves.

We’ve come too far to stop now.

Independent films like this only happen because community decides they matter.

So if you’ve been watching this journey unfold, cheering us on, sharing our posts, believing in what we’re building…

This is the moment we’re asking you to help us cross the finish line.

Every donation is tax deductible.

And truly… no amount is too small.

For those who have been looking for a bigger way to support this project, we are also opening a final opportunity for a small number of community supporters to come on as Associate Producers.

A $1,000 contribution includes producer credit on the film and the opportunity to directly support bringing The Way Back Home to life alongside us.

If that feels aligned, I’d love to personally connect with you.

Over the last few months, I’ve watched this community show up for us in ways I will never forget.

And I have a feeling what we’re building right now is only the beginning.

Thank you for believing in this work.

We can’t wait to show you what we create together.

With love,
