You’ve felt it, the shrinking, the settling, the silence. This is the reminder you’ve been searching for.

Silhouette of a woman with radiant hair.

It’s like moving through the dark.

You stumble. You find things by accident.
You hit your knee, your toe, but keep going anyway.
Frustration builds.

You’re searching for something, fumbling, tapping on furniture
But it never seems to show up.
Where is it?!

And then, finally, you turn on the lights.
Your eyes adjust.
And there it is: the thing you were looking for
sitting in plain sight, in a place you circled again and again.

Maybe for you it looked like staying too long in a job that drained you, staring at the clock every day, knowing you were built for more. Maybe it looked like saying “yes” when every part of you wanted to say “no.”

Or pouring your energy into people who couldn’t pour back. Those are the moments when you feel the darkness most, when you know you’ve forgotten who you are.

Sometimes you stumble into the right thing.
Other times, you don’t.
Sometimes, you have to flip the switch and admit: something is off. You are off.

And when you finally flip that switch, it feels like air rushing back into your lungs. Suddenly, you know, you can’t keep living like this. You can’t keep dimming. You can’t keep forgetting.

That’s the exact moment you decide: no more.

So,
To the girl who forgot who she is: welcome back.

You’ve felt it every time you stayed quiet when you wanted to speak. Every time you shrank yourself so others could feel comfortable. Every time you settled for crumbs when you deserved the feast. That’s how you knew, you’d forgotten her.

They tried to dim your spark.
But you never stopped searching.

Reclaim you.
Reclaim your power.
Reclaim your dreams.

Because you are not ordinary.
You are meant for more
to be, embody, and seek more.

The thing about stumbling in the dark is:
You always know when something is wrong.
When someone is wrong.

Reality doesn’t match how you feel inside.
It’s like being thirsty with no water in sight,
but still knowing exactly what will quench you.

That knowing?
It’s the reminder that there has to be more.
And there will be.
Because you are not ordinary.

Sometimes you’ll want to go back.
But the past is only a teacher
a guide to show you what to avoid,
not a place to stay.

You get to be new.
To try differently.
To build, brick by brick, the life you actually want.

Because nothing is ever really lost.
Sometimes, you just need clarity.
Sometimes, you just need to decide.

To the girl who forgot who she is:
This is your reminder. She’s still here, waiting for you to choose her again.

What’s one moment you realized you’d forgotten yourself, and how did you find your way back? Your words might be the reminder another reader needs too.
