How is it the end of June already? Time is just bonkers this year. But, I did remember that I do monthly recaps before the end of the month, so that’s good lol.
June has given me new routines, busted appliances and lots of crafting. Also, I messed around with some new headers and I kind of love them! What do you think?!
Used Game Stores - It’s like traveling back in time to when I worked at EB Games 800 years ago!
Hanging Photos - I finally stopped overthinking gallery wall layouts and just put photos on the wall! Highly recommend.
Journals - I’m experimenting with different journals and layouts and I think the journey is just as fun as the destination with this project.
I’m using an old post as a template for this post right now and the last time I did a recap was February/March. In that timeframe, I did four podcast episodes, three vlogs and four podcasts/blog posts. Eleven pieces of long form content?! Not including the weekly newsletter?! Even over two months that feels like so much.
I mean, it wasn’t summer break, but still. Here are the Friday Favorites I put together this month 🙃 There’s still a lot of good stuff in there! That’s 18 different small businesses!
I have been adding little things to our shop this week and would like to shamelessly plug our cutie mugs! I’m obsessed and will be ordering them for myself, too.
Prairie Fruit Arts - This shop is just incredible! Love this snail linocut print. Their pronoun pins are pretty, too.
Dapper Notes & Stationery - I just found out about this shop and apparently am late to the party! How cool are these pocket notebooks made with fabric?!
Pounded Yam Productions - This Ankara bookmark is absolutely gorgeous!
B.N. Blithe de Corona - This print is called So I Went Searching For My Softness and that feels just as beautiful as the piece!
Cabinet of Curiousities - They shared about these vampire garlic graters on Instagram, but they’re not available yet. I just really need you to know about them.
Catnip Magazine - It’s a magazine about cats and cat people!! This is the waitlist for issue three and you’ll also get an email about submitting your own bean to be featured in the “cute overload” section of the magazine! You can find the first two issues here.
Kinusaiga is my new favorite thing! This is the tutorial I used to make these little patchwork quilt pieces. I’ve got a new one on deck that’s still in the cutting stage. It’s taking a while because I went from 2.5x3.2” to 10x13” lol. It’ll be a weekend project for sure!
Turns out this craft takes as much measuring and math as actual quilting, which is kind of a bummer, but a huge win when it works.
Coming to you live from down the DIY journal rabbit hole! I followed this tutorial to make the DAISO pouch journal cover that has taken over my Instagram timeline. I had to buy bulk from DAISO’s online site since we don’t have one around here lol. You can see my haul here.
I’m fully obsessed and I have so many supplies, so I’ll be making many more!

Apparently, I had quite a mix this month. I don’t know if I should count Shadow & Storms because I wasn’t able to finish it before my hold was up and the audiobook was returned, but I want to finish it and read most of it. So, in it goes!
If you want to know more in-depth thoughts and feelings, I hollered about each of these in my previous favorites. I’m still trying (even after 70+ weeks) to figure out how much to chat about books. Always a work in progress.
Anyway, I’m excited to be over a bit of a reading slump. After finishing all of Becky Chambers’ books, I just couldn’t really get into anything. Her Wayfarer world is so expansive and beautiful and heartwarming!
But, Maison Ikkoku was a good palette cleanser and now I’m into Shield of Sparrows which has me carrying around the book like it’s a security blanket because I need to know what’s going on!
I finished The 100 Day Project this month and still need to recap it because it really was such an accomplishment.
I’m thoroughly enjoying my pink office and the warm weather.

We went to a mall where Andy used to work and it was wild. Very Backrooms. A lot like when I took him to the Temple mall in Texas. It’s so weird seeing spots that used to be so integral to daily life, so still and empty. The passage of time and chage of society is bonkers.
I went to document my nail appointment, but my camera made it look like a soft-focus soap opera lol.
Changing routines and schedules can be difficult for me and the start of the summer usually feels like preparing for battle. But this year, I’ve felt a lot more spaciousness and freedom with the summer. Emmit and I enjoy our days with a little bit of a schedule and enough flexibility to keep things interesting.
I’m sending you that energy now! Have fun, make stuff, read books and pet cats!!
