I only order an everything bagel. I am weak for flaked garlic, a hint of seed cycling, and a crunch of salt, but I’m also at a constant desire to go against the norm.
Everything but the bagel? Have I become a Trader Joe’s seasoning blend? Before I fall into a millennial hole of mainstream marketing, I’m trying to remember that sometimes things are popular for a reason. Maybe I’m allowed to have a moment of basic and desire a world of everything bagel-flavored goods.
I think about my favorite everything bagel — the everything flagel (a flattened bagel) from Ess-a-bagel in NYC. I’m drawn to the seeds, salt, alliums, and crunch from the high surface area, and that is when it hit me. I didn’t need the wheat; instead, I could have my everything bagel breakfast love in a new light. Granola
