Hi, readers!
I have been nothing but hot this week! It’s so hot I can’t even think straight! I started the week with the best intentions of cooking, but the wheels have come off the bus. We’ve had ice cream every day for lunch, I’m throwing together turkey sandwiches, ordering pizza, and have gone full tilt into slushie making (so far only kid-friendly, but I will be spiking it soon!).
All I want to do is read my book with a fan blowing in my face. All my kids want to do is the sweatiest and stickiest activities at all times!
This week I finished Games by Anna Maria Volkova, an age-gap romance that I was totally obsessed with. I don’t think it’s for everyone, but it was definitely for me! Find my review here!

Now, I am smack dab in the middle of Kathryn Stockett’s The Calamity Club, and I cannot get enough!
I hope you are staying cool this week and reading something good!
This book has been sitting on my shelf and staring at me, but the size (600+ pages!) has been intimidating me! After a trip to my local bookstore last week and an enthusiastic endorsement from the bookseller, I knew this had to be next on my list. I am 50% into the book, and I am absolutely obsessed with the story.
Find The Calamity Club on Bookshop.org or shelve it on Goodreads!
The maker of my favorite body wash (it feels like a body oil, washes like a body wash, my favorite scents are Sacred Santal and Naked Neroli, but I’m working my way through them all!) made this lactic acid exfoliator that I’m loving. It doesn’t smell great, which makes me feel like it’s working 🤪. I also love that it’s called a body polish. It makes me feel like a diamond that just needs a good scrub!
I use it 2-3x a week and follow up with the body wash. If you are also plagued with keratosis pilaris like me (red bumps on the backs of your arms), this Cetaphil lotion after the shower, in conjunction with the body polish, has shown gradual results (and I mean gradual, but thank you to the reader for the rec!).
I used to love the drama of going behind the curtain during the Nordstrom sale, and while the sale has changed, there are still some gems to be found!
I love my Lola blanket. It seems insane to talk about a humongous, heavy blanket during one of the hottest weeks of the year, but this gorgeous blanket is so important to me during the winter.
My air fryer is one of my favorite purchases of 2026! I use it every single day. It lives on my counter, and I make everything from bacon in the morning to air-fried chicken thighs in it!
The TheraFace wand is a favorite of mine. I use it more than I ever thought I would. It makes me look more awake and less puffy!
My favorite curling iron is on sale! I use it 99.9% of the time when my hair is curled.
My body lotion that I stockpile is included!
If my kids are coming on the trip, so is the slumberpod!
I had so much fun reading the book (review here), and I happened to be on Nantucket last year at the same time they were filming! I am only on episode two, but I am having fun watching Elin’s splashy story on my screen!
