It’s Mini-Music-Monday everybody! It’s been awhile, the show intros and countdowns sound so…old! Since I played Apocalypse Fetish last week on my 12-string-guitar-modified-to-a-four-string-tuning-using-6-strings, why not play The Breeze from the same e.p.? It’s in the same tuning (C# G# B D#) , easy.

Here’s the video of the studio recorded version from 2016 (straight from the tap, no YouTube!) :

vid by Adam Harding and myself.

The version on the pod is ragged, but hey, I’m almost 10 years older. 2016-2026 was a long ass ten years amiright? While I was practicing endlessly hoping to deliver an awesome version for the pod I remembered that I had titled The Breeze in tribute to one of my favorite songs of-all-time The Breeze by QUIX*O*TIC. If it weren’t for QUIX*O*TIC I may have never thought of the using ‘breeze’ as a lyric inspiration. I knew I had to take a swing, in the breeze, at covering this masterpiece of spare beauty, restraint, and timeless words. Check out the original (on YouTube!):

What was I thinking trying to play this song? It is perfect. I was thinking: “it’s our podcast, I’m not perfect, I’d like to spend a day playing this song over and over again hoping something will rub off on my soul during the process”.

After doing a shit job explaining the significance of Christina Billotte and her amazing resume of bands, I lead poor Adelle into a discussion about the origin of the word quixotic. Scholars beware! With that nonsense and the chaotic nature of this Mini-Music-Monday, RAW Impressions is back!

My version of The (real) Breeze and whole kooky, commercial-free, show are beyond the paywall.
