It’s July 24, 2026 and a new dispatch is in hand.
If you’ve ever wondered why I call this Bananas Republic, a couple stories this week will demonstrate how far off the deep end some people have gone.
Sophie Cunningham Slammed for Standing Up for Women’s Sports
Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham is standing her ground after the Left, the media and the usual suspects go bananas because she said males should be kept out of women’s sports and girls locker rooms.
Though at this point---get it? Point?--being white, straight, beautiful and popular would get her slammed if she said it’s a good idea to keep a basketball round.
As I wrote about in this article “Sophie Cunningham’s Pointed Defense of Women’s Sports,” Cunningham defended comments made to ESPN earlier in the week before Wednesday night’s game against the Connecticut Suns. “I said what I said. I think it’s kind of common sense,” Cunningham said. “And I think I’ll always believe in that. I think it’s really important to protect children, and that’s little girls who are also involved in that category. I stand on what I said.”
In related news, Lebron James announced he’s signing with the Connecticut Suns.
Let’s add to the crazy. The WNBA players union won’t allow licensees to brand Cunningham’s famous finger point, declaring it “Derogatory.” You’ve got one of the iconic moments in sports … for a league that loses money … and the union is saying, “Oh, the horror. We don’t want the money that licensing would bring.”
Officially, the WNBPA response is: “For licensed apparel, we generally do not feature or look to monetize player conduct from a confrontation between our members.” Cunningham herself can profit from it, which indeed she is.
Truly, the WNBA won’t die. It’ll commit suicide.
However, things get even crazier when you consider the latest thing done to Cunningham’s cohort and league superstar Caitlin Clark.
USA Today Writer Compares Caitlin Clark Complaining to Refs About Being Assaulted to the Murder of Civil Rights Figure Emmitt Till
USA Today hack Karen … I mean, Nancy Amour went full psycho in a new hit piece on Caitlin Clark. Amour claims that Clark repeatedly complaining about being smashed, punched, slapped, scratched, poked, tripped without fouls being called puts “black” and “queer” players “in danger.”
Clark’s had her eardrum punctured and her throat nearly crushed, but she’s the threat? It’s like when people raised a stink about ISIS cutting off heads and the Left screamed about Islamaphobia.
Amour went off the deep end by evoking Emmitt Till, a 14-year-old Mississippi boy who was abducted, tortured and lynched after a white woman accused him of coming on to her. Amour claims Clark is continuing that dark historic pattern of white women falsely accusing Blacks of being a threat, thus putting them in danger.
After being called out for being bat*** crazy, Amour doubled down, admitting only she was “inartful” in her use of Till.
Thus continuing the historic pattern of white liberal women using long gone offenses to get clicks.
You know how you know she’s full of crap? She threw in “queer” players.
Here’s a question for Amour. Are those black and “queer” players supposedly in danger of Clark cashing the bigger checks they’re getting because of what Clark’s brought to the league? They’re not getting lynched. They’re getting Lexuses.
Brandon Gill Forces Smithsonian Director to Explain Why Museum Thinks Politeness and Mickey Mouse are Racist.
At a House hearing this week, Freshman Rep. Brandon Gill sweetly, but devastatingly, shredded the director of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History for Smithsonian materials that claim that such things as “politeness” are signs of white supremacy, and Mickey Mouse is racist.
Donald Duck running around without pants? A sign of his glorious sexual liberation, like naked men dancing in front of children at Pride Parades.
Watch Gill. He’s like a character out of a 70s TV show. As if Wonder Woman and Columbo had a love child. Or an old movie, “Clark Kent Goes to Washington.”
Meanwhile, in Washington …
Rumor Floated Around Capitol Hill Wednesday That Mitch McConnell Had Died
Don’t want to say it’s true, but his Senate office is now called “Coffin Corner.”
Nah, it appears McConnell, whose been tucked away for weeks since being rushed to the hospital, has not yet gone to that great distillery in the sky.
Forget cats. This turtle has nine lives.
My guess is the only three people left on the planet will be McConnell, Keith Richards and Cher.

“Yeah. The day you worked at McDonald’s, I saw you give the fries and extra shake of salt!”
Last Time, If You Recall, There Was an Assassination Attempt on the President and Top Officials
Which, as we have since learned, was Caitlin Clark’s fault. Or at least at fault for the people of color who had to dive for cover.
That’s it for today.
