These tools aren’t perfect; no tool is. I’ve seen instances where a graded card was being included in the raw numbers, which might cause a misleading spike in value. So trust, but verify.
We are reaching the point in the season where you have to start thinking about runway.
In some cases, that means major leaguers who won’t be in the playoffs and thus won’t have an opportunity to continue raking or dominating on the mound.
In other cases, that means minor leaguers who could be promoted when rosters expand, while others finish off big seasons, and then disappear until the Fall League or even next season.
So, while this issue is stacked with genuine catalysts from top to bottom, think things through. Think about the runway and whether there’s a chance the hot card you’re looking at now is more affordable in a couple of months.

Padilla was promoted from Single-A Palm Beach to High-A Peoria this week after slashing .273/.350/.473 with three homers, 10 steals, and a strong 10.5% walk rate in his return from a shoulder injury that delayed his season debut until mid-June. [Source]
