This is not buying or investment advice. I’m simply reporting the data I’m seeing. Please do your own research and make your own decisions. Just because cards have increased in value up to this point, it doesn’t mean they will continue to do so.
Even the best systems fail at times.
I’ve had a saved search set up for this set parallel for a very long time; over a year.
I’ve never seen one pop up on CollX until this morning, and I was 9 minutes late when letting my dog out at 4AM.
I’d say that’s a $150-$250 card.
It happens.
The important thing to remember though is that your goal is to put yourself in position to find these steals.
So when you see a big card like this:
Check the seller’s inventory. While other huge cards might not be found, there’s a good chance you’ll find something flippable.
Understand why you missed the card. Were you just late when checking your systems or did you “accidentally” happen across it? If the latter, take a moment to set up a saved search or whatever system you need to find that card or set the next time it pops up for a fraction of what it should be selling for.
If you have no idea what to search for when trying to flip cards, you’re either overthinking it or you’re not putting in the effort.
I’m not saying that if you haven’t found flips, you’re failing. I’m saying that if you don’t even know where to begin, start small. Look for what you know, or start learning something new.
To learn, get started with these resources:
Nearly 100 sneaky valuable cards and sets like the one referenced above.
All of my past non-COMC flips so you can spot the patterns.
And that’s really the theme of today’s Flip Files.
There isn’t one type of card you need to find or one strategy you need to master. The more patterns you recognize and the more ways you give yourself to find cards, the more opportunities you’re going to have.
Now, let’s get to the sales.
