Some mornings begin with a strange feeling that you are already late.
Not necessarily late for work or an appointment. Just late to your own life.
You wake up and remember the message you forgot to answer yesterday. There are dishes from last night. The laundry needs moving. You need to leave soon. Your phone already has notifications. There is something at work you meant to finish earlier, and somewhere in the back of your mind is the feeling that you should probably exercise, eat better, call someone back, and sort out the thing you have been postponing all week.
Nothing is on fire.
But before breakfast, you are already catching up.
Then the day continues in the same direction.
You answer what is urgent instead of doing what is important. You clear small tasks because they are easier to finish. You move from one unfinished thing to another, and every time you close one loop, two more seem to appear.
By evening, you have been busy for hours.
You may have done a lot.
Yet you still feel behind.
That feeling is exhausting because it creates a life where effort rarely turns into relief. You are always handling what should have been handled earlier, recovering from what went wrong yesterday, or preparing too late for what is happening tomorrow.
The problem is not always poor time management.
Sometimes the real problem is that your life has no margin.
