reminders for the week

reminders:

  • look closely and for a long time

  • keep moving if it's not interesting

  • make a list and let it guide you

  • don't buy more books this trip, you have enough to read at home

my four creative seasons

looking: at your own work, at other peoples work, at the discipline, understanding your point of view, what you admire, what you don’t like

resting: investing energy elsewhere or nowhere, minimal talking, slowing down, tending to other parts of life

making: mess, play, exploration, tension, repetition, mindfulness, execution, mindlessness

longing: what precedes exploration, figuring out if you want to make at all, connecting with urgency, understanding what you do not yet know about materials/ other humans/ the world / yourself
