My best view of sunrise on this overcast day came on my morning walk.
Happiest day, beloved Joy Train Rider! I love you! Bless you! I affirm we are doing well.
I am determinedly holding a vision of our world as whole, each one loving the other. Deep in my soul I believe there was a time when humans were closer to our divine potential. Just as the message gets distorted in a game of “telephone” from where it begins to where it ends, our story may have been watered down from high ideals to where we are today.
I promised to leave the recounting of facts about the odious conduct of our leaders towards our national parks, public lands and people to the multitude of other writers spotlighting them. But I’m not immune to the cascading atrocities including the past week. Once again, it sent me looking for a historical perspective in our National Parks and protected spaces around the world to put it in cosmic context.
Also today I learned that as Elon Musk launches SpaceX and becomes the first “trillionaire” - imagine one person trying to amass so much of Earth’s finite resources to himself - this is actually happening;
“We are now in a strange world where the rents of the near-Earth orbital highways are more than the location rents on Earth.”
Say what?!
In other words,
“The value embedded in the orbital slots used by satellites now exceeds the value embedded in the land beneath our feet. The fibre-optic cables running along the ocean beds are more influential on the business cycle than the location rents people think about when they buy and sell their homes. . .”
To think that such a fundamental shift has taken place without the knowledge or consent of most of the population is chilling to me. We’ve moved from segmenting the planet into pockets we own, and now a very small group has segmented our mutual skies into market assets that benefit only them.
Thankfully the expert who unveiled this story also offers a solution with a potential result that gladdens my heart:
“We will have a humanity that’s literally utopia.”
Yess!! So there are others that believe Utopia is possible. I hope you’re among them.
Synchronistically, this morning I read the news story “Archaeologists’ groundbreaking discovery as ‘lost Atlantis’ finally found after 8,500 years”
This made me think how many truths of history are dismissed as fables. Information that persists from antiquity is often belittled or overlooked.
I do believe that our ancient ancestors left us messages on the land in the form of timeless structures such as the pyramids and the Sphinx. With all our modern tools, we still don’t know conclusively how they were built or what they’re meant to signify.
The spiritual discipline I practice links the god Thoth with Atlantis. It is said he taught mankind on multiple continents how to build pyramids encoding knowledge for future generations. Perhaps for the first time we have access to so much knowledge and can aggregate it to devise solutions together to address this uniquely trying era.
The name Atlantis surfacing now, whether or not it is the landmass associated with Thoth and our highest human expression, seems very timely. It invites us to turn our attention to the physical relics of civilization, and contemplate what they mean.
