It’s in the subject line but I’ll say it again: Today is the last day to preorder the Free Planet volume 1 trade paperback – collecting issues #1-6 of the geopolitical space opera – thereby ensuring you have it in your hot little hands as early as possible: November 26 in comic shops, December 9 everywhere else. Here are the best ways to do exactly that:
Call your local comic shop
Call your local independent bookstore
Order from Collector’s Paradise
Why is preordering important? In addition to being another copy of the book sold, it indicates that there’s demand for the book. And that’s why I’m urging you to order from comic shops and independent bookstores, which, when confronted with demand for a new title, will typically bump up their overall orders as well, unlike the unthinking, unfeeling, unknowing algorithms of the major online retailers.
Still, it’d be naive to behave as if massive amounts of books aren’t sold through online retailers; in fact, sales through Amazon specifically are essential to any comic series’ long-term health. Even though you’ll preorder through other means, I urge you to leave a review for Free Planet volume 1 on Amazon. This is an amazingly impactful way for single issue readers to continue supporting the book without spending an additional cent. Similarly: Please also review Free Planet on Goodreads and League of Comic Geeks.
I told you it was a quick one! In terms of production updates…I’m currently writing Free Planet #12 and Jed’s drawing #11, so you can subscribe at your local comic shop in full confidence that we won’t leave you hanging.
Finally: Dr. Aldous Foyroushi would love to hear from you with any questions about Lutheria or the broader universe of Free Planet. Drop the good doctor a line, won’t you?
Aubrey
