M7.4 earthquake in Colombia on 10 August 2026

The strongest earthquake to hit Colombia, with magnitude M7.4, hit on August 10, 2026, precisely in the date range of 9-13 August 2026 in which I had predicted M7.0+ quakes in the world in my August 2026 overview, published on 24 July 2026:

Unfortunately, I could not give a better warning as I am not looking at the Western Hemisphere these days, except for a rare prediction line or two. However, when a quake happens, even if I have not called it, I always look at what planetary configuration was involved. In this case, it was quite a clear-cut case, and if I had been looking at this corner of the world, then this would have been immediately caught:

The red and blue lines are prediction lines I would have published if I had looked at this area. As I always say, likelihood of a major incident is higher when more lines are packed together: in this case, two very malefic lines are packed together. The blue line is the kind of line that also led to the last time the world saw M7.0+ earthquakes: one and half months ago, in Venezuela.

Dozens of people have died, and the toll will only increase. If one has simply not foreseen something, one thinks, ok something is still missing in the method and sets out to investigate. But when one would have foreseen it, and yet did not because time was short, one feels somewhat guilty: what if one had published it, and someone there had seen it and thus kept themselves safer?

Anyway, if I try to put myself in the shoes of yesterday, then this is most likely how I would have published the red and blue lines, respectively, for 5-15 August period:

• Straight line running through 4°54′N, 76°09′W. Notable accidents, strong violence, major incidents of fires or explosions or involving firearms or strong precipitation or storms also likely near this line. (It is highly likely I would have shown the Peru section of the line.)

• Line between 4°54′N, 76°17′W and 4°15′N, 76°16′W. Notable accidents (especially involving aircraft or watercraft), incidents of drowning, incidents of shooting, terrorism or violence in general, troubles for the young, copious rains and notable instances of deception or fraud also could occur near this line.

I hope that I am able to automate most of the prediction procedure in a few months, then no corner of the Earth will be left unseen.
