Late on Sunday we arrive at the New Moon in Gemini. There are many facets to this lunation, it is Mercury ruled and a mutable beginning, things initiated now will mutate into something else entirely. It is important to correctly understand the core of Gemini to work with the next 4 weeks. Gemini is the sign associated with the mind, and its ruler Mercury is the only energy that mythologically can descend into the hades lands and rise up to heaven. Your mind can take you to hell or to heaven, and in both places you will adapt, because Mercury adapts. Making an effort to take a different mental path is the main thing this lunation presents, and it might be the best thing you can initiate for yourself right now.
Another thing about Gemini is that it is associated with trade, skills, learning and selling something. A lot can be gained with this lunation, but we need to make sure that what we are selling, offering or trading doesn’t actually own us instead. Mercury the ruler of this lunation is in Cancer, in its shadow phase ( will go retrograde on June 29th). The intention behind what and why we are selling, sharing and communicating something has to be solid. As much as I do like this New Moon, I know Mercury and the trickster is still a trickster, and substitution of meaning/values behind what we do is something to watch out for. Trading is a major Gemini thing, and with this lunation we need to get clear on what we are trading our skills, talents and ideas for, what is the acceptable exchange rate and what is absolutely not acceptable?
I think this New Moon is massively significant as it kicks off something that will be taking shape in the course of the next 7 years, and it has everything to do with Uranus in Gemini. We can talk infinitely about changing our mindset, re-wiring our brain and so on, but it is often a matter of right timing as well. Because of the dualistic nature of Gemini the outcome of whatever we begin now depends on our ability to hold the spectrum of changes that this beginning brings. The next four weeks will make us re-think our relationship with our immediate environment, with information we consume and share, with what enters our energetic bodies and what we give back. This is a very auspicious New Moon, just be careful with what you think you want, it might happen.
The other thing we need to be mindful about is the tendency to get stuck in analysis paralysis about something we want to do, needing a perfect solution, action plan or choice can be a shadow side when we deal with the Gemini/Sagittarius axis. The mind can round you circles if you do not re-negotiate the terms of conduct with this energy from the get go. The next 7 years are overall going to be about taking reins from a mind centered decisions, through understanding that mind should never dictate your choices, its main duty is noticing and collecting data, that’s it.
