There’s a version of me from earlier this year that looks like she’s having the time of her life. Grand opening day for our second Rêve location. I was smiling in every photo, filming as many clips as I possibly could, cracking a joke or two to keep the mood light. I was saying hello to person after person, welcoming them into a place we had spent over a year building.

What none of those photos show is what I was actually carrying that day.

This one’s for the woman who’s really good at that part. The one who shows up smiling while something enormous is happening underneath. The one everyone counts on precisely because she never lets them see what it’s costing her. If any part of that sounds like you, keep reading.
