Books out. Sold out.
Went to bed with that old familiar sick feeling that comes on the eve of putting out a new comic. Woke up to messages from a few shops saying they sold out of their copies right after opening and the book was sold out at the distributor. Yes, I woke up after some comic shops opened. I work at night. Leave me alone.
Point of the story is despite us being the most annoying people on Earth trying to get you to preorder, and us printing a BUNCH of extra copies, we still sold out. So huge thank you and admiration to everyone who preordered the book, to the retailers who carried it, and slightly smaller but still very large thanks to the folks who wandered into their shops today to buy a copy or tried to. Means the world to myself, Mark, Andy, Francesco, Hassan, Steve, Eric, and everyone who worked on this. We promise the best stuff is yet to come.
If your local shop doesn’t have a copy for you some friends like Midtown Comics in NYC, Cape & Cowl in Oakland, Forbidden Planet in London, Big Bang in Dublin, and a bunch of other amazing shops still have them for sale. Poke around and you can find a copy.
Because you all demanded it (a few people asked nicely) we decided to show our faces and sign some books. So if you want to get your copy of IF DESTRUCTION BE OUR LOT… #1 signed, or anything else really, come say hey.

I got to talk to Manny at Monkeys Fighting Robots about the book. And, like all good interviews about Lincoln he asked all the most relevant questions-

David is one of my favorite interviewers because he makes it feel like we’re just old friends talking, even though really he’s trying to get me to let my guard down so I say dumb stuff. And then I got to talk with the great Ben Blacker on his Re:Writing podcast. I am a big fan of Ben’s writing, his podcast where he chats with other writers, and of him as a person. In that order. So I was thrilled he invited me on the show. If you are a fan of writing and process it is a must subscribe.
I did a bunch of other stuff too but this feels like enough for now.
As I mentioned the book is sold out so the copies on your store’s shelves are all the copies they will get.

Some very cool retailers took exclusive covers that aren’t available at your local shop. I’ve been told they’re all moving quick but they aren’t all gone yet. So check out these cool exclusives and grab a copy before they’re all gone.
This cover by my old buddy Alexis Ziritt is a favorite of mine. For those of you who care about these things, Alexis did the rarest and priciest cover to any book I ever made- the WE CAN NEVER GO HOME SDCC Exclusive. You can grab a copy from the folks at SEQUENTIAL ART COMICS. Limited to 500 copies.
Our good friends over at THIRD EYE COMICS have this amazing piece by Andy and Francesco. Being that they are DMV retailers it felt only right to give them this D.C. themed cover. Limited to 500 copies.
This awesome Joel Herrera cover is available from BIRD CITY COMICS. It’s such a mood. Limited to 500 copies, these are almost gone too.
And lastly we have this one from Andy and Francesco. This one is available from… us! We got 300 total. 200 raw and 100 signed. Just announcing these here now so they are not almost sold out. In fact we’ve sold 0. But that will probably change. Go grab a copy here.
