A man. Tall. Athletic. Bald. Dark brown. Rotten teeth. A blue grocery bag filled with paper. A black thread around the neck holding two silver keys. Of course he was wearing sunglasses. Kaal is too cautious to let me look into his soul.
To let me see his scars.
To let me feel his pain.
To let me love his flaws.
I stood there smiling. Giggled to calm his nerves.
He was scared that I saw the life in him.
Surprised that I saw the death in him.
Puzzled as why wasn’t I scared of him.
I wanted to follow him. I took a second to decide if I was ready to leave my throne. Well, I know they say that Death does not wait for anyone. But I expected him to wait for me. I expected Kaal to look back at me. I expected atleast a “See you later”.
My eternal bones have memorized -
His one glimpse.
A few seconds.
Three feet of space.
Kaal the great destroyer, the time itself stood in front of me. Me - a mere Goddess of light. Goddess bound to her throne. Caged in heaven. Destined to be alone.
But it all felt possible. The change of fate. Re writting the destiny when Kaal stood in front of me. When the ultimate destroyer, stood in front of me.
All my life, I have heard - Gods never die. We are immortal. But I always doubted that. I wanted to doubt that. I don't want to be immortal. There is nothing that I have to look forward to because there is infinite time. Never on a clock. Never on a time crunch. Never on a time table. When I have forever to finish what I started - why would I ever start? If I’ll start everything later and later can just forever roll down the hill of eternity, when will I start living?
No. An eternity has passed already. I am incomplete without death. I want to live to die. Outside the protection of my throne. Outside the perfection of heavens. I want to live alongside kaal.
I need to find kaal.

POV of Kaal.

I have been watching.
Watching her love the sinner.
Watching her bless the demons.
Watching her smiling with the ghosts.
First, I thought she is Naive. She is Naive and doesnt know that these demons have no soul. These ghosts are just repercussions. And Sinners. They dont deserve no love.
But then I found a door inside her heart. I felt her pain. Felt her void and the anger. But I also felt her love. Her powerful stubborn love. And it made me wonder if she’ll have the same love to bless me with. If she would treat the destroyer of the universe with the same kindness.
But everytime, I take a human form - Humans get scared of me. And her - She is the Goddess of light. Living in the purity of heaven. few seconds of death in the halls of heaven will take the majesty away and she will know that I am Kaal. And if she knew who I am, how can she love me?
But then again, she is not like the others. She wasn’t scared of the hosts or the demons. Perhaps, she will not be scared of my decay.
I have to try.
She was sitting on her throne like she earned it. She searched for my eyes. She wanted to see my soul.
She laughed when she talked. Why did she laugh?
She looked at my keys. Does she want my treasure?
She looked at the papers. Does she know who I am?
