The past 3-4 nights in Southern Arizona and Northern Mexico have been fabulous. Last night, strong storms created an MCV (a big storm that essentially created its own low pressure system), which still spins down by Yuma / Rocky Point on the satellite image this morning.
Here in the West Valley?
Our next reasonable chance for rain/storms is Sunday Night - Monday Night. The Monsoon high is forecast to move into a favorable area (and not be as strong - meaning less dry/hot air above us) … and there are “some” indications of an inverted trough of low pressure moving east-to-west south of us. This would create favorable wind flow into the Valley.
Also - starting Monday, temperatures fall back closer to seasonal averages.
I should note … storms won’t be far away the next several days, strays could make it into the Valley (but probably won’t). Regardless, the theme of the first month of the Monsoon in the West Valley has been …
