Our Monsoon break is coming to an end this evening, a little bit ahead of schedule.
Remember our friend DCAPE? The metric essentially measures the potential of strong downdrafts in thunderstorms. DCAPE is predicted to be north of 1,600 - 1,700 early this evening, enough for winds between 55-75mph.
There’s a good chance of colliding outflow boundaries this evening, starting from the east, later from the south.
Storm development is evident on the satellite image.
Rain chances aren’t great, but aren’t zero.
Windy outflow boundaries and/or a haboob? More likely. Hopefully we won’t have flying debris.
Eyes to the skies this evening.
