After a trip to the Mayflower Inn & Spa this week to both recharge and chat/plan all things Fenimore Lane Design Summit, I’m back with a packed back half of the week: client meetings, podcast recordings, and diving into the deluge of my inbox after being out of office for three days (eek). I’ve been getting some requests for a roundup like this on IG, so I noodled on a new series– I’ll be putting together a week of outfits each month; a little taste of the items I’ve been wearing the most, throughout a typical week. One of the things I love best about working with my friend (and all around favorite human) Becky Malinsky is that she truly helped me to refine my wardrobe (and my “why” behind getting dressed, frankly), and is always guiding me to edit for versatility, encompassing all the facets of working mom life, from school drop off to a site visit. (She just gets it!)
Below, a round up of a typical week of what I’ve been wearing this fall. The guiding ethos of my wardrobe is mixing classic Americana (think: Alex Mill, J.Crew, Ralph Lauren, Tory Burch), with some weird and wonderful vintage from The Real Real or Etsy (e.g., a vintage Etro coat, like the green paisley gal featured in the photo collage above, paired with a white tee, jeans, boat shoes and my trusty ASO tote.) Crisp, cozy and a little hint of something patterned or artsy-craftsy to take it down a notch. (Just how I like my interiors.)
Speaking of weird and wonderful vintage–may I highly recommend Amanda Jones Vaughan’s edit? (AJV *is* that category inside and out.)
Excited to hear your thoughts on this new series, and stay tuned–a new “everything i’d buy for” is coming soon. (Hint: the theme is ~tropical~…)
