dreams of reclaimed wood, painted floors, a design studio in the garden and library with a wood burning fireplace included

One of my favorite places in the world to visit is Litchfield County, Connecticut. The Mayflower Inn & Spa holds a deeply sentimental place in my heart–I’ve been working with the Mayflower and Auberge teams on the Fenimore Lane Design Summit for years, and every time I visit I fall even more in love with the hotel, its property, and the incredible team who makes the magic happen there. And magic it is: Celerie Kemble’s interiors, with their utterly charming eccentric country-house vibes, always send me down a path imagining we had a house of our own tucked away in the woods. How can you not daydream when surrounded by such beauty? Inspired by the hotel and some of my favorite local spots up there, I’ve pulled together everything I’d buy for a country house in Connecticut–dreams of reclaimed wood, painted floors, a design studio in the garden and library with a wood burning fireplace included.
