Adrian Thorne — Thank You 💙

I woke up this morning to find my story “Fractured Time – Chapter VIII: The Corpse of the Future” featured as the Weekly House Pick on Adrian Thorne's “From the House, With Love”. Not just listed — featured. The top recommendation. Selected for "turning a time jump into immediate dread — a broken prototype, a ruined 2187, and Mason and Adrian's bond holding the story together."

Adrian read my work and understood it. That sentence — that one line of description — tells me he didn't just skim it. He sat with it. He felt the dread. He saw Mason and Adrian's bond as the spine. He got it.

But here's what matters more than my story being picked.

Adrian built something. From the House, With Love — seven stories every week, curated with care, linked directly to their creators. Til Brenko . Gavin E. Black 🖤 Alex Robertson. Kai . Zach Holliday . Maxwell George . Me. Seven writers who write the kind of stories that algorithms bury and polite society ignores — and every week Adrian said: these matter. Read them. These voices deserve to be heard.

He built a house for us. And now he's gone — and his work is gone too. Everything he built here, erased. Because of a decision that shouldn't have happened. A platform that claims to champion free expression made a choice that silenced someone who was using that freedom exactly as intended — to lift others up.

I don't know if Adrian will see this. I hope he does.

Adrian — thank you. Not for picking my story. For building the House. For reading all of us every week and telling the world we're worth reading. For caring about queer fiction when it would have been easier not to. For the time, the attention, the generosity.

The House isn't here anymore. But what you built isn't a Substack page. It's a community of writers who felt seen because you read them. That doesn't disappear when a platform makes a bad decision.

Adrian is no longer on Substack — and neither is his work. But he's still writing. He's still out there.
