Here, we'll break down everything you need to know about Old Wounds, including who the traitor is and where to find and rescue Rollo's Danes.
When you complete the An Uncommon Proposition quest of the A Breviary of Broken Hearts quest line, you'll receive two quests, with Old Wounds being one of them. This quest begins just southwest of Colcestre. Let's head there.
When you arrive a the teal objective marker, talk to Estrid. Run through the dialogue options you have to learn about what she wants — after this, follow her. She'll task you with finding a guard by the name of Rollo inside the nearby brothel. Head inside and a cutscene will start.
After this, you'll need to protect Rollo against a small band of guards. There are about five to defeat.
After that, speak to Rollo and he'll tell you to meet him at a new location northeast of Colcestre. Let's head there.
When you arrive, you'll learn it's Rollo's camp and that there might be a traitor amongst his numbers. You need to speak with the two accused and then search the camp for clues to discover the traitor — the two clues can be found at the camp's rack of meat and near some red flowers in camp.
Who Is the Traitor in Rollo's Camp?
The traitor is Gelhrid. If you pick the wrong traitor, Estrid will get injured later.
After making your choice, Rollo will ask you to help him find and rescue his Danes. They can be found at the teal objective maker 450 meters southeast.
When you arrive, sneak into the camp through the fence opening on the left, pictured below:
Otherwise, head in through the front door and prepare for a fight. Take down everyone in here and then head to the backside of the camp. You'll find two cages of Danes — unlock the gates and fight alongside them to kill all of the guards in the camp.
Once you've killed every guard, Eivor will ask Rollo to bring Estrid across the sea and back to Francia. This concludes this quest. Head to the next page of this guide, Taken, to continue this walkthrough.
