Marcel van Kervinck, (March 27, 1972 – May 25, 2020 1)
was a Dutch software engineer and metrology. Marcel was author of the chess programs Rookie 2, MSCP (Marcel’s Simple Chess Program) 3, and the UCI engine Floyd for study purposes 4, author of the online opening database Bookie 5, and co-author of the Gigatron retro-style 8-bit microcomputer 6 7. From December 2012 until November 2014, he was a member of the board of the CSVN. Marcel van Kervinck passed away on May 25, 2020 8.
