Seattle Light rail map PCB

A map of the Seattle light rail network, inspired by but unrelated to https://traintrackr.io.

Status

5x PCBs made and assembled by JLCPCB, most of them are somewhere around the space.

Quick specs

Microcontroller: ESP32-S3 with 8mb PSRAM and 8mb flash LEDs: SK9822 addressable RGB (compatible with APA102 on the protocol level) Power: 5V via USB-C Programming: ESP32 bootloader over USB-C, debug output available Expansion port: unpopulated 0.1" double row header with some GPIOs, serial (UART) and LED string clock/data broken out on it

Working firmware which pulls live data directly from OneBusAway can be found on Forgejo.

I want one!

They cost $60 each to make (in the initial batch of 5) and you can have one for that much while they last. If there's interest, we can do a second batch and find ways to make them cheaper (something down to $30 should be doable with some effort).
