The Bridge exists to bridge between obsolete media and more modern storage. It is a dual 700MHz Pentium 3 machine with a Nvidia GeForce 3 Ti500 running windows 2000. Currently has a 3.5" Floppy Disk Drive and space for a 5.25" Floppy Disk Drive.
Archiving a Floppy
- Make sure the hard disk with Windows 2000 is installed in the back hot swap tray!
- Boot Windows 2000
- Open the program WinImage
- Under the "Disk" menu select which drive to read from
- Under the "Disk" menu select "Read disk"
- Wait for your floppy to be read
- Under the "File" menu select "Save"
- Choose a location to store your image for now
- Copy your saved image to a USB drive or upload to the Internet Archive
- Close all programs and shut down if no one else is using the PC
Maintenance
- This machine has a hot swap 2.5" drive bay in the rear.
- If you want to not use windows on this machine please provide your own hard drive.
