Comments

Let visitors leave comments under your posts, pages, etc with our Comments widget! Create one instance and embed it on as many pages as you want.

Core

• Replies: Comment widget supports up to 5 nested replies, allowing a proper discussion to take place.
• Likes: Visitors can like comments and then sort them by top liked.
• Pin comments: Pin important information at the top. Up to 3 comments can be pinned per page.
• Self-delete: Visitors can delete their comment within an hour of posting, in case they made a mistake.
• Sorting: Sort comments by newest, oldest and top.
• Import: Import your comments from Ayano or HTML Comment Box CSV exports.
• Export: Download all your comments as a CSV file.

Composition

• Formatting: Simple markdown is supported (bold, italic, strike, underline, links)
• Smileys: Allow visitors to use smileys in their comments. Upload your own smileys!
• Avatars: Visitors can upload their own avatars. There's also Gravatar integration.
• Website URL: Optionally ask commenters for their website URL.
• Custom fields: Add custom fields for users to fill in.
• Max length: change the max length of the comment.

Moderation & spam

• Captcha: comments require invisible captcha to be solved to prevent spam.
• Hold for approval: optionally require manual renew for each comment.
• Manage comments: approve, mark as spam, delete and edit comments from the dashboard. You can also Login to the widget directly from your site for comments management!
• Word filter: filter out comments with bad words.
• Bans: ban IPs forever or for specific amount of time.
• Country control: blacklist or whitelist specific countries.
• VPN/proxy filter: don't let people with a shady connection to comment.

Notifications & integrations

• Email notifications: Receive emails on new comments and replies
• Reply notifications to commenter: Visitors can enable email notifications for replies to their comments! WidgetStar will require them to verify their email to prevent spam and will allow them to unsubscribe at any time.
• HTTP webhooks: programmatically process new comments.
• Discord webhooks: receive new comments over Discord. Configure how message and embed should look like.

Appearance

• Themes: pick a theme that suits your site the most.
• Text and color: full customization of text, fonts and colors.
• Custom CSS: Style comments exactly how you want with custom CSS. You can also apply your page's CSS!
• Hide attribution: Hide "powered by WidgetStar" attribution with premium.
