Philippine Comicsor locally known as
KOMIKS
(the general term used for comics created or produced in the Philippines)
are widespread and popular throughout the country from the 1920s but slowly
declined in the 1990s. Komiks were partially inspired by American
mainstream comic strips and comic books during the early 20th century.
We are constantly updating this
site, and we are constantly looking for additional content. So if you have
any scanned image of an old Filipino komiks in the 70s,80s or 90s, we
would appreciate it if you could please
do email it to pinoy@philippinecomics.net
so we can add it up to this library. Let's not let these Filipino treasures die in the shadow of the night.
Let's preserve them through the power of the internet so that the next
generations of Filipinos would enjoy them.

We just added one of my personal favourite artist Don Figueroa to the list
of creators. He is one of the most talented Filipino artist that had
designed the Transformes toys and worked at Dreamwave production and IDW.

As you may have noticed, we have recently created an
IN-HOUSE STORE button on our site. This the huge thing that we were
talking about a few days ago. It is very challenging to put an
e-commerce on a site since none of us has any experience in the field.
We are learning as we go along. So please support us by downloading a
copy on that part of our site. As of now, there are only one title. But
we are adding new title as we go along. So

And..... We
are back.
Ladies and gentlemen, www.philippinecomics.net is back after being down
for almost two days. It took a little longer that expected, but we are
back. I never knew transferring a website host would be such a hassle
and so technical. This was actually our first time to transfer a domain
name from one host to another. And to be honest, the old host was much
better in terms of service and technical support. The only reason why we
are on this new host is because of the price. It�s one third of the
price of the old one. We are forced to do this because it�s either we
transfer to a cheaper host or we shutdown the entire thing completely.
The later part does not appeal to us very well so here we are. If we
were not in such a financial down ward spiral right now, we would still
be at the old host.
And speaking of hard financial time, as you noticed we have put a donate
button on our site. Please help us maintain the site by giving some
donation. Payment for the hosting, domain registration and other
expenses are already taking it's toll on our personal finances. Any
amount that you might give will be very much appreciated.

This month of February is such a big deal with us, it
marks the one year anniversary of this site. We are so busy right now
for a more up and coming things. We recently renewed our domain name
(www.philippinecomics.net) for another year. We also signed up on a new
hosting company (which is much cheaper) , so if you could not access
some of the pages or starts getting error messages, please do bear with
us, we are on the process of transferring all of the files and directory
to the new host server. Thank you very much.
