California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) 2013 Compliance Statement and Healthcare Compliance Report In accordance with its Development Agreement, CPMC has submitted its 2013 Compliance Statement and Healthcare Compliance Report for review by the City and County of San Francisco. As required by CPMC’s Development Agreement, the San Francisco Departments of Public Health and Planning must receive public comment on the Compliance Statement for 30 days after posting. As such, public comment will be accepted from Monday, June 2, 2014 until 5pm on Wednesday, July 2, 2014. Health Commission The Health Commission holds two committee meetings in addition to its twice-a-month regular meeting. These two meetings are the Finance & Planning Committee and the Community & Public Health Committee. Others are Joint conference Committees for San Francisco General Hospital & Laguna Honda Hospital. New Health Insurance Options Under the Affordable Care Act On January 1, 2014, new health benefits made available by the passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act went into effect. This means many San Franciscans will have new health care coverage options.

Pregnant Women Need Pertussis Vaccine! Pertussis (Whooping Cough) is a very contagious disease, caused by bacteria. People of all ages can get whooping cough but babies are most in danger of having problems from it. All pregnant women should get a pertussis vaccine, called Tdap during each pregnancy. Tdap vaccine is safe for you and your baby. Some of the protection you get from Tdap during pregnancy passes to your baby. This will help protect your baby until he or she is old enough to get the first whooping cough vaccine at 2 months of age. If you are pregnant, talk with your medical provider about pertussis vaccine. |

The San Francisco Department of Public Health provides and sponsors trainings and continuing education for staff, community partners, and the public. The Community Programs Training Unit and the Health Education Training Center now offer online registration. |
San Francisco's Community Health Improvement Plan As a result of a comprehensive community health assessment, the San Francisco Department of Public Health and its community partners have created the San Francisco Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). San Francisco's CHIP is a 3 to 5 year action-oriented plan outlining three priority health issues for the city:
