Vimeo Event Terms
Last Updated: March 18, 2026
These Vimeo Event Terms are made between Vimeo.com, Inc. ("Vimeo," "we," "us," or "our") and you ("you" or "Attendee"). These terms govern your registration for, access to, attendance at, and participation in any in-person, virtual, or hybrid event, program, conference, screening, meetup, webinar, livestream, workshop, or similar gathering hosted by Vimeo (each, an "Event").
By registering for, attending, accessing, or participating in an Event, you agree to these terms, which form a binding agreement between you and Vimeo. You acknowledge that you have had the opportunity to review these terms before participating in an Event.
If separate or additional terms apply to a specific Event, those terms will control if they conflict with these terms.
1. Registration and Participation
You may need to register to attend an Event. Registration may be subject to approval, and space may be limited. We may limit, deny, or revoke registration or admission to an Event at our discretion.
You must be at least 18 years old to register for or attend an Event.
You are responsible for providing accurate registration information and maintaining a valid email address for Event communications. We may send confirmations, updates, logistical information, or other Event communications electronically. You are responsible for reviewing communications sent to the email address you provide. Personal information collected in connection with Event registration or participation will be handled according to our Privacy Policy.
Tickets, badges, or other Event credentials are intended only for the registered Attendee. They may not be transferred, shared, or resold unless we explicitly allow it. Unauthorized transfers may result in cancellation of your registration or removal from the Event.
2. Event Changes and Cancellation
We may modify any aspect of an Event. This may include the date, format, speakers, schedule, venue, content, or other Event features.
We may cancel or reschedule an Event for any reason, including circumstances beyond our reasonable control such as venue issues, weather, public health concerns, government restrictions, labor disputes, natural disasters, or other force majeure events. If an Event date changes, your registration may automatically transfer to the new date. We are not responsible for any travel, lodging, or other expenses you may incur because of Event changes or cancellation.
3. Virtual Events
Some Events may include virtual participation. Unless expressly stated in Event materials, registration for the virtual portion of an Event does not include access to any in-person portion of the Event or entry to the venue where the Event is held.
Virtual access may require certain software, hardware, or internet connectivity. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary technology to participate. We will make reasonable efforts to provide a reliable virtual experience, but we are not responsible for technical issues or interruptions outside our control.
Virtual attendees may not have access to all Content, sessions, or activities available to in-person attendees. We may modify or limit features of the virtual experience at any time.
4. Event Access, Security, Venue Rules, and Travel
If you attend an Event in person, you must check in upon arrival. You may receive a badge or other credential that must be worn or carried while you are at the Event venue.
You must comply with all Event rules, venue policies, and security procedures, which may include bag checks and restrictions on certain items. Prohibited items include firearms or other weapons, explosives, hazardous materials, illegal substances, bicycles, skateboards, in-line roller skates, or similar items. Unattended items may be removed.
Smoking or vaping may be restricted depending on venue policies. Animals are not permitted except for service animals where required by law.
Events may take place at venues operated by third parties. Vimeo is not responsible for the conditions, services, policies, or operations of those venues.
You are responsible for arranging your own travel and obtaining any necessary visas, permits, or travel documents required to attend an Event. If you require accessibility accommodations, please contact us before the Event so we can consider reasonable accommodations.
5. Payments, Refunds, and Promotions
Some Events may require payment of registration or ticket fees. You are responsible for all applicable fees, taxes, duties, or other charges associated with your registration. Unless otherwise stated, Event fees are stated and payable in U.S. dollars. We may use third-party payment processors to collect or process Event payments. Unless otherwise stated in Event materials or required by law, Event fees are non-refundable.
If we cancel an Event, we may provide a refund or credit according to the refund policy communicated for that Event. We may offer discounts, promotional pricing, or coupon codes subject to additional terms. We may modify, suspend, or revoke promotional offers if we believe they were used improperly, fraudulently, or in violation of these terms. Your use of a discount or promotional code does not guarantee entrance to the Event.
6. Photography, Recording, and Media
Events may be photographed, recorded, livestreamed, or otherwise documented. By attending an Event, you agree that Vimeo and its affiliates, sponsors, partners, and service providers may capture and use your name, image, voice, likeness, appearance, statements, and participation in Event recordings, photographs, livestreams, or other media.
You grant Vimeo and its affiliates a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use these materials for promotional, marketing, educational, archival, editorial, commercial, or other lawful business purposes without further notice or compensation.
You waive any right to review or approve these materials and release Vimeo and its authorized partners from claims arising from permitted uses.
You may not record, reproduce, or broadcast substantial portions of an Event without our written permission. Casual photography for personal use may be permitted unless restricted at the Event.
7. Event Conduct
You must behave in a respectful and professional manner at all Events. Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, stalking, unwanted physical contact, or other inappropriate behavior is prohibited.
Examples of prohibited conduct include:
Harassment or unwelcome sexual advances
Discrimination based on protected characteristics
Threats, intimidation, or bullying
Disrupting speakers or Event sessions
Interfering with sponsor exhibits or personnel
Creating a hostile or unsafe environment for others
Unauthorized marketing, solicitation, or commercial activity at an Event is not permitted without our written consent.
If you are experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness, you should not attend an in-person Event.
We may refuse admission to or remove you from an Event at our discretion, without refund, if you violate these terms or behave in a disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate manner.
8. Food and Beverages
Food and beverages may be provided at some Events. If you have dietary restrictions or allergies, please notify us in advance when possible. We may attempt to accommodate dietary needs but cannot guarantee ingredient accuracy or prevent cross-contamination.
Alcohol may be available at some Events and may be provided by third-party venues or vendors. Only attendees of legal drinking age may consume alcohol where permitted by law, and alcohol must be consumed responsibly.
Event organizers, venues, or vendors may refuse alcohol service to anyone who appears intoxicated. You are responsible for your conduct and any consequences resulting from alcohol consumption.
9. Event Content and Sponsors
Events may include presentations, demonstrations, discussions, recordings, photographs, livestreams, and other materials (collectively, "Content"). Statements about future products, services, or features are for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as commitments by Vimeo to deliver any particular functionality, product, or result.
Events may include guest speakers, exhibitors, or sponsors. Their views, opinions, and Content are their own and do not necessarily reflect Vimeo's views or endorsements. Vimeo does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of Content provided by guest speakers, exhibitors, or sponsors.
Any interactions, communications, or transactions between you and a sponsor or exhibitor are solely between you and that sponsor or exhibitor. Vimeo is not responsible for any such interactions.
10. Risk, Responsibility, and Indemnification
Attending an Event is voluntary. You assume all risks associated with participating in the Event, including risks related to travel, venue conditions, interactions with other attendees, and participation in Event activities. You are responsible for your own health and safety while attending an Event. Vimeo does not provide medical services or insurance for attendees.
We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property brought to an Event.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Vimeo, its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, suppliers, contractors, and sponsors from and against any and all claims, demands, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or in connection with your attendance or participation in the Event, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
EVENTS, CONTENT, AND THIRD-PARTY MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VIMEO DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VIMEO AND ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES ARISING FROM YOUR PARTICIPATION IN AN EVENT. VIMEO'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS RELATED TO AN EVENT WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT OF EVENT REGISTRATION FEES YOU PAID, IF ANY.
12. General Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Updated terms will become effective when posted. Continued participation in an Event means you accept the revised terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes arising from these terms must be commenced in either the Commercial Division of the New York State Supreme Court for New York County or the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York; you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts. IN ANY SUCH ACTION, VIMEO AND YOU IRREVOCABLY WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY.
These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Vimeo regarding Event participation. If any provision of these terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any provision of these terms will not be considered a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
Vimeo may assign or transfer these terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, or sale of assets. We are not liable for delays or failures to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, labor disputes, epidemics, pandemics, or similar events.
