Ubuntu Convergence is almost a reality, but it still lacks apps and features that work seamlessly in both mobile and desktop modes. Some of these apps, like uNav, have become popular , but this exclusivity doesn't seem to have lasted long.
We recently discovered an app called uWriter that not only allows us to write text notes on our mobile phone but can also be used as an efficient word processor that works in both mobile and desktop modes.
uWriter is a word processor optimized for all devices
uWriter doesn't have the complex features of LibreOffice or Microsoft Word, but it works just as well as Google Docs, a cloud-based alternative that many users are likely using due to a lack of good options like uWriter. The best thing about uWriter is its mobile mode. Unlike many other apps, including Android apps, uWriter has an ideal design that allows any user to not only write easily but also navigate the application's menus and quickly and efficiently apply styles to their text.
uWriter is also compatible with other device technologies, specifically Bluetooth , allowing users to connect a keyboard or mouse to their mobile phone and write text as if on a desktop computer, without needing a data connection, unlike other services such as Google Drive. This makes uWriter ideal not only for mobile phones but also for devices like tablets or desktop mode.
The app is free and available from the Ubuntu Store or through uApp Explorer , an interesting marketplace for finding new apps and applications for our devices , don't you think?
