It occurs to me that if one wanted to limit the power of HOAs in their area, supporting good urban planning and increasing urban density would be a good way to start.

Last night, some friends came over for dinner and brought a pineapple. The fruit was delicious, and I now have tepache brewing!

Woke up yesterday to no internet. By the looks of it, a hard drive failed on my server, which caused my AdGuardHome DNS to go offline. (Well, one is offline; the backup should still be working, so I don't understand why it's not.)

Today is an unscheduled recovery day, I suppose...

Shoot dang, it seems that slow and steady really is a good way to learn. I'm doing HTML/CSS practice to help with building my new website, and incremental iteration is helping me feel like I actually largely understand what I've done.

This afternoon's iced tea NA cocktail:

• 1 Trader Joe's Winter Wake-Up black tea bag, steeped in 100 mL boiling water for 15 minutes
• 20 mL agave syrup
• 25 mL fresh lemon juice
• approx 1/2 tsp. lemon curd
• orange peel, for garnish

Shaken over ice, strained atop a large rock.

Maybe slightly sweeter than it needs to be, but damn, the spices in the black tea make for a yummy summer afternoon sipper.

As I'm planning my site, I've dedicated a section of my notes to "glimmers": joyful, magical, or whimsical touches. My first idea for one just struck, and I know it's a good one because I'm utterly delighted thinking about it.

Pretty sure I have successfully repaired my TWSBI Diamond 580! At some point, the threads of the feeder holder got screwed in to the barrel too tightly and a millimeter or two snapped. This was causing leakage into the grip, which then would seep through and get on my fingers, into the cap, etc.

TWSBI sent me replacement parts and it was a quick 10-minute fix.

I think I finally found a notekeeping and project organization strategy that will work for managing my website redesign: a Zettelkasten-style stack of index cards.

I've gone and registered shiftkey.club for future shenanigans.

I bit the bullet and bought a used HP mini PC tonight, for my dreams of some kind of community tech commons.
