When One Door Closes

After 11+ years of designing, printing, painting, installing, coding, managing, building systems — and generally following my curiosity wherever it led, my journey (as well as those of many other talented individuals) at Facebook/Meta has ended as part of the ongoing large-scale organizational changes happening within the company.

It was a good run.

I had the distinct pleasure of working alongside many talented designers, artists, teammates, and colleagues. I’m so grateful to all of them for their guidance, support, and friendship. They pushed me to dream big, ask hard questions, lean into new challenges, find my voice in the things we made, and, most importantly, not settle. This role was truly one of a lifetime and a gift beyond my wildest dreams. I wouldn’t trade the twists, turns, upsets, and triumphs for anything.

I’m forever grateful to Ben and Everett, who started it all, Bixby for convincing FB to take a chance on me, Tim for his boundless creativity and encouragement, and Chase, Jessalyn, Linda, and Tina who were my close compatriots through these last few months — and of course to everyone who played a role in shaping and shepherding the program over the years. We made something special.

What’s next? A little break to reset and recalibrate, some summer travel, and of course, making more projects like my latest book, I Take Full Responsibility.
